I got this from the CBC website today.

Turns out, eight of the ten infamous shootings have occured in Alberta or Saskatchewan. (I count Dennis Strongquill's murder as Saskatchewan/Alberta seeing as how the three criminals were from Alberta and were, eventually, arrested in Saskatchewan). Apparently, we have a real lack of respect for authority in these two provinces.
My feeling is that if you pull a trigger on a police officer, a judge should throw the book at you. For example, giving a guy two years for shooting and seriously injuring an RCMP officer in Carrot River is a joke. I don't care how old you are. If you are old enough to do something like that, you are old enough to pay a stiff price for it.
And, if you kill a cop, then you get the electric chair.
Some things in life shouldn't be the least bit tolerable.
...and these are the Provinces that have fought the hardest to get rid of the gun registry.
ReplyDeleteI'm actually against the registry but the Irony is just too sweet to pass up.
