Jay Boyd and I had a real good discussion about this last night.
We both agree that since the Saskatchewan Party has been elected with an overwhelming majority in this province, that means that the public is trusting them to make the best decisions to govern our province.
If we, the people, are so upset by this essential services change; then we will make them pay for it at the ballot box.
Guess what? They are more popular now than ever before. So, how can 1 judge (Dennis Ball) strike down a government decision? What's the point of having governments to make laws?
I like Jay's comment to get rid of the politicians and let's just be governed by a king. Maybe Judge Dennis Ball could appoint one to look after our well being.
well Mike....yer wacked. You whine and complain on here about the courts and our laws and everything else then when the law is actually upheld for once .....you complain about that too. Bitching and whining certainly are a Sask tradition up in your neck of the woods aren't they.
ReplyDeleteIt's about time people tell it like it is! Good on ya Mike.
ReplyDeleteLove reading your blog and comments. However, just because your Political team suffered a setback there is no need to question the decision. I am confident if Judge Ball's decision went in favour of Mr. Wall's government you would not be making the same argument.
ReplyDeleteCould to see the governmenttake it on the chin once in awhile as it does make them a better government in the long run.
It's potentially very dangerous legislation when they haven't really identified what exactly is an "essential service". Labour has fought for generations for the right to negotiate everything they can through collective bargaining. When the pro-business government hands over legislation like this to big companies it starts to strip away all those rights, you can start to kiss away any working class as we know it in this province, and country for that matter.
